Punta Cana is the most popular destination in the Dominican Republic – for good reason. The minute you walk to the beach and allow the warm Caribbean Sea to lap across your feet – you will know you have come to the right place for the perfect vacation. But there is more to Punta Cana than just the glorious perfection of this idyllic coastline. Here are some insider tips for an excitement filled week in Punta Cana!

Scape Park allows you to gear your “adventure quotient” to your own level. Feeling fit and up for a breathtaking ride through the tree canopy? Hike up the mountain and zip line down through awe inspiring terrain, with a splashy finish in one of the parks many pools! Feel like just a leisurely stroll? Walk through the forest to the Hoyo Azul cenote where you can swim in the most breathtaking turquoise water. Choose the ladder or leap from the platform above. Scape park also offers jungle tours via ATV and horseback riding. At the end of an exciting day, cool off with a fresh mango juice sold by a vendor on site.

Just a twenty-minute drive from most Punta Cana resorts, a trip to Macao Beach is a must do for accomplished surfers and “just learners” alike.

The beach at this laid-back surf town is lined with local restaurants where you can dine al fresco right on the beach. Enjoy the fresh catch of the day served with tostones – a Dominican specialty made with fried plantain.

Sporty types will want to visit one of many surf schools located along the beach. A qualified instructor will take you in to gentle waves that are perfect for beginners. Expert surfers can paddle a bit further and test their skills in this dynamic sport. One way or another, Macao Beach is the perfect spot to make your fantasy of a surfer’s life come true – even if just for a day.
